THE OPEN DOOR OF DOUBT

The Real-Life Trigger

This encounter began after a very real moment in my life. We had just returned home from my infant daughter’s doctor’s visit. She had received a vaccination, and later that day, I noticed her body reacting in a way that unsettled me deeply. My husband prayed over her with faith and confidence, declaring: “She will be fine.” I agreed outwardly, but as the night went on, I could feel fear creeping in. I began to wonder: “What if something goes wrong? Should I take her back to the doctor?” I didn’t realize it, but my doubt had begun to open a spiritual door.

The Vision Opens

Later that night, completely exhausted, I laid down for a quick nap — but the moment I closed my eyes, I was swept into a vision. I found myself in a dark, chaotic, outdoor place. The atmosphere was heavy, and everything around me felt tense, as though danger was lurking in every shadow. Suddenly, I saw a group of men carrying torches, and they were chasing after me. I didn’t know why they were after me, but I could feel their intention was violent. I ran as fast as I could, my heart pounding. Finally, I stopped, turned toward them, and shouted: “Why are you doing this? What is your legal right to come after me?” One of them stepped forward, his voice cold and accusing, and said words that pierced my soul: “You doubted your God… so we are here.”

The Revelation of Legal Access

In that moment, the Spirit of the Lord revealed the meaning: - My doubt about my daughter’s safety had given the enemy legal permission to launch a spiritual attack. - Fear and unbelief weakened the hedge of protection God had already placed around us. - The enemy had been watching — waiting for a moment of agreement through fear. This was not just about my daughter’s health — this was about jurisdiction in the spirit realm.

The Turning Point

In the vision, I realized instantly that I had to close the door the enemy had exploited. I lifted my hands and cried out: “Father, I repent for doubting You! I trust You. I believe Your promises. This child belongs to You!” The moment those words left my mouth, a blinding light burst into the atmosphere. The darkness shattered. The men carrying torches screamed and vanished instantly. I stood there, trembling but covered in the peace of God. Then I heard the Lord’s voice, steady and strong, saying: “Stand in faith. Do not open doors through fear. My covenant covers your household.”

Faith Secures the Gates

When I awoke from the vision, tears filled my eyes. I looked over at my daughter and laid my hand on her, declaring healing and protection over her in the name of Jesus. The Lord reminded me of Ephesians 6:16: “Above all, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” I understood then: faith is a shield. The enemy cannot trespass where faith establishes authority. But doubt — even silent, hidden doubt — can create openings the enemy is eager to exploit.
